Courtyard Farm – Rancharda, A’Bad

Set on a 29000 square foot plot in Rancharda, this farmhouse places about 3600 square feet of built space around a central courtyard, so the garden is the first thing you meet and the view every room turns back towards. A long low roof sweeps over the main volume in a single curve, carried past full height glazing that opens the living spaces onto the lawn. The material palette stays earthy and tactile, pairing pale travertine with rough random rubble stone, charcoal stacked stone and a curved red brick screen that holds a seated Buddha behind a hanging curtain of creeper.

An arched stone verandah runs along one edge, linking the house to a pool terrace, a sunken circular seating pit and a shaded parking court beyond. Warm step lights and uplit planting carry the composition into the evening.
