SMA is an Ahmedabad based architecture and interior design studio offering end to end design services.

Founded in 2017 by Ar. Sanjay Malviya, the studio works across residential, corporate, hospitality and industrial projects, with completed work in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Udaipur and Mehsana. We cover five design verticals, from architecture and interiors through to turnkey coordination, carrying each project from the first concept to the final handover.

Ar. Sanjay Malviya is the Principal Architect of Sanjay Malviya Architects, the Ahmedabad based architecture and interior design studio he founded in 2017 after completing his B.Arch.

He set up the practice on a simple conviction, that architecture and interiors should be drawn by the same hand. Too often a building is designed by one team and fitted out by another, and the seams show. At SMA the shell and the interior are developed together from day one, so structure, light, circulation and finishes resolve into a single idea rather than a set of compromises.

His work is guided by sustainability, innovation and refined space planning. He designs for longevity rather than trends, selecting materials, systems and orientations that lower environmental impact and keep performing for decades. The result is a luxury that stays quiet and distilled, where restraint, proportion and the quality of a material do the work instead of ornament.

Sanjay stays personally involved at every stage, from the first conversation about how a family or a business actually lives and works, through detailing and material selection, to coordination on site. Clients know him for clear communication and disciplined timelines, and for designs that answer the Indian climate, culture and way of building while holding a contemporary global language.

Under his direction, SMA has delivered residences, corporate offices, hospitality interiors and industrial projects across four cities, with each brief approached as a fresh canvas rather than a house style applied once more.

Behind every SMA project is a close knit team of architects and interior designers who carry a space from the first sketch through to the final handover. The studio is kept deliberately compact, so the people who design your project are the same people who detail it, select its materials and coordinate it on site. It is a mix of architects and interior designers who bring different strengths to the table, united by an eagerness to learn, a careful eye for detail and a process driven way of working. Because the team is small, decisions move quickly, nothing is lost between departments, and the quality of thinking stays consistent from concept through to completion.
